Boardwalk

If you ever find yourself wandering near Millennium Wheel Dr in Falkirk and craving a meal that’s anything but ordinary, Boardwalk is the kind of place that might just reel you in before you even see the menu. Sitting right on the waterfront, this hidden gem isn’t just about the views-it’s about the food, the vibe, and that perfect balance between relaxed and refined.

Boardwalk offers something that’s pretty rare: a casual dining experience that doesn’t compromise on flavor, service, or atmosphere. Whether you're showing up in the morning for a full Scottish Breakfast or you're winding down with a late dinner and cocktails, there’s a sense of comfort and quality that runs through everything they do.

Let’s talk food first-because, let’s face it, that’s why you’re here.

One of the standout dishes at Boardwalk is their Traditional Fish and Chips. It’s not just a token menu item-they treat it with respect. The batter is golden and crispy without overpowering the flaky fish inside, and the chips are proper chunky, not the skinny fries you’ll find elsewhere. If you're more into something hearty and comforting, the Steak and Sausage Pie brings serious flavor, especially when paired with a glass of red wine from their well-stocked selection.

Now, if you're in the mood for something a bit different, the Monkfish Kebab is worth exploring. It's grilled perfectly, with just enough char to make the flavors pop without drying it out. For a spicier twist, the Chilli Prawns bring a solid kick-perfect alongside a Mojito or one of their well-made cocktails.

And let's not overlook the burgers. The Ranch Burger and Mexican Burger both punch above their weight, stacked high with toppings and dripping with sauce (in the best way possible). The Chicken Schnitzel and Cajun Chicken Crepe are great picks if you’re into crispy textures and rich flavor profiles.

Sweet tooth? You're covered. The Chocolate Fudge Cake and the Signature Chocolate Bombe are pure indulgence. Or go classic with a Strawberry Tart and a pot of tea. For a lighter touch, Coffee and Scones never disappoint-especially when enjoyed outside on a sunny day with views of the wheel.

That brings us to the setting. One of the things people love most about Boardwalk is the outdoor seating-it’s a proper vibe when the weather’s playing nice. You’ve got the water, the Ferris wheel, and a nice breeze. Inside, it’s cozy without feeling cramped, and yes-it’s wheelchair accessible, which is a big plus.

They serve breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert, so it’s one of those places you can drop into at any time of day. The bar on site makes it a solid spot for drinks with friends, too. Whether you’re ordering a craft beer or a glass of wine, the service is friendly, fast, and informed. They’ll happily recommend a drink pairing if you’re not sure what works with your Lasagna or Scallops.

One thing to note: there’s no delivery or takeaway. Boardwalk is a dine-in kind of place-and honestly, it makes sense. The atmosphere is part of the experience. You come here not just to eat, but to settle in and enjoy it.

Boardwalk manages to feel laid-back without losing its polish. It’s got heart, it’s got flavor, and it’s got a spot right on the waterfront that makes you want to linger a little longer. Whether you're a local or just passing through Falkirk, it’s the kind of place you remember-and usually, you end up coming back.

Great service and knowledge of their massive gluten-free menu. I can't wait to go back and try more . Lovely place to dress up and feel spoiled. I got the seafood sharing platter for myself and got a doggy bag for what I could'nt finish. 1st class

Well maintained restaurant. Good quality and tasty food with a decent selection of gluten-free options. Can't advise on vegan as we did not ask for this menu. Waiters did their job really nice and did make sure we had all what we need it.

Lovely restaurant, very spacious. Service is very good and has a lovely atmosphere, very comfortable. The sea food plater we had for starters was excellent, my main course was excellent, but the meat with my wife's meal a little dry.

What a pleasure of a place to visit from food. From the moment you drive in to the card park your impressed. The staff are friendly and attentive. The service is bang on. The atmosphere in the restaurant is chilled vibes. The xmas decorations really set it off. Me and four of thd lads ordered starters and mains. There wasn't one complaint from any of us about a single dish. Absolutely top draw

We had breakfast here. The food was really nice and service was good. The main downside was that they are not dog friendly. We had to sit outside at picnic tables even though there were other better tables outside. Made us feel like second class citizens! It's also quite expensive, especially when having to sit outside.
